What you can do

Your own Sender ID

Messages arrive from your business name (for example ECITES_TECH) instead of an unknown number, so people trust and open them.

Personalised from Excel

Upload a list and use its columns in the message: "Dear {Name}, your balance is KES {Balance}." Ready-made templates for 16 industries.

All Kenyan networks

Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom numbers in any format (07..., 01..., +254...). Invalid and repeated numbers are removed before sending, so you only pay for real ones.

Schedule and repeat

Send now or schedule for later, once or on a repeat (daily, weekly, monthly), with a reminder before each run.

Pay with M-Pesa

Top up your SMS wallet with M-Pesa and pay only for messages you send. The price per SMS drops as your volume grows.

Reports

See what was sent, to whom and what it cost, and export reports to Excel whenever you need them.

Frequently asked questions

How much does bulk SMS cost in Kenya?

With Ecites Konnect a standard SMS costs from KES 0.20 to KES 0.70 depending on how many messages you send. See the pricing page for the current rates per volume.

Which networks can I send to?

All Kenyan mobile networks: Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom. You can mix numbers from all networks in one list.

How many characters is one SMS?

One SMS holds up to 160 characters. Longer messages are sent in parts of 153 characters and charged per part; emojis and some special characters reduce this to 70 characters.

Do I need my own Sender ID?

It is recommended. A Sender ID shows your business name as the sender. You can request one from your account; see the Sender ID page for what you need.

Can people stop receiving my messages?

Yes. Every promotional message ends with the opt-out instruction STOP *456*9*5#, as Kenyan rules require, so people can choose to stop receiving promotional messages.
